Our Aims a) Religion: to promote the beliefs, ideals and practice of Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism. b) Education: to promote both the academic and psychodynamic study of all aspects of Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism and Judaism. c) Health: to promote and encourage and Jewish meditation, relaxation, stress management -prevention and reduction, increased mental health and personal happiness. d) Personal Development: to promote increased personal growth, development, responsibility and citizenship within the wider community and environment. Objectives In furtherance of the above aims, the Kabbalah Retreat shall: a) Aim to initiate, establish and maintain a relaxed, tranquil spiritual environment for fostering religious sensitivity to Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism, via meditation, individual and communal prayer, and ritual. b) To provide a wide variety of educational opportunities for the study of Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism, via lectures, seminars, classes and discussions on a number of different levels –introductory, intermediate and advanced. These classes etc will attempt to be contemporary, relevant and sensitive to modern urban living. Although areas covered may include the history of Jewish mysticism, hermeneutics, basic Hebrew, Judaism, metaphysics, Kosher yoga, Jewish time management and Kabbalahlistic relaxation techniques the main focus of theses studies will ultimately be personal development, happiness, meaning, universal responsibility and citizenship. c) To provide practical tools and methods for stress prevention and increased relaxation either gleaned from the tradition of Kabbalah, Jewish mysticism, including, meditation, relaxation techniques or from other sources, which might include time management, alternative - complementary therapies, craft workshops and yoga. d) The project is mainly aimed at the Anglo-Jewish community but will be open to any interested and respectful parties no matter their race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or economic background.
